To that end however, we've decided short of any huge announcements, we'll be only blogging updates quarterly.

As 2011 comes to a close, it's very obvious that ebooks are beginning to eclipse sales of our trade paperbacks. As more and more devices come out that support ebooks, especially with the ever present Kindle App for Android, etc., we're seeing about a 4:1 ratio of sales of ebooks vs. trade paperbacks. Will there ever come a time when "real" books are no longer published? Consider that it's been said that CDs will be gone within 5 years in favor of total electronic music distribution, it's very possible that the only physical books you'll find are special printings.

Stephen O'Connor's outstanding work "Spy in the City of Books" has been nominated for an IPPY, that's the Independent Publisher Book Awards. Two years ago, Larry Brooks' "Whisper of the Seventh Thunder" won best suspense novel so we're hopeful that Steve can reel in a second award for our little publishing business.

In 2012, we'll be cutting back to just a few books published, primarily gearing our efforts towards marketing the fine books we've already released the past three years. The biggest release will be "Mill City Stories: Tales of Lowell & The Merrimack Valley," a compilation of stories from local authors past and present. We're going to donate all the profits from this book to a veteran's charity and kick it off with a release party at the UMass-Lowell Conference Center on June 8th. More on that as we get closer. We also have a huge announcement about an unpublished piece by a well renowned author for the book that we'll let slip once we work out the full agreement.

Mike Girard's "Psycho Chicken & Other Foolish Tales" is now available as an audio book. Right now it's only available as a 6 CD set for sale at Fools' shows, but we're working on a digital download through our website. It's even funnier to listen to Mike read it (with music and sound effects) than it was reading the book on your own.

We're also hoping to do another Murder Mystery event with some of our authors in 2012. Look for more info for that in the future.

Have a great New Years and we'll update no later than the spring...unless there's huge breaking news...and that's quite possible!

The May Update

Wow...it's May already?

Yes, we're still here and yes, we're guilty of not updating since January. It's been a busy few months getting through the winter and now into spring. Since our last update, we've been involved in a few notable events we'd like to share.

First was a couple of interactive
murder mystery events at the Zorvino Vineyards in Sandown, NH (www.zorvino.com). The first two were in January and authors Mike Girard and Lloyd L. Corricelli participated in two sold out nights of "Loud and Lethal" which was written by local author CJ West. As you can see from the photo, it was a hell of time.

We followed that up with a second mystery show in late April called "Three Strikes & You're Dead" written by Lloyd. Look for more of these events at Zorvino in the winter. If you've never took part in one, it's an absolute blast.

In January, we released Stephen O'Connor's book "The Spy in the City of Books"to great acclaim. The release event was held at the Athenian Corner restaurant in Lowell, MA and the line was out the door. We actually ran out of books and had to provide a lot of people IOUs. It's a great book that we continue to have high hopes for.

A quick note on ebooks. While five years ago, people snickered at the idea, they've now caught on in a big way and in March of this year, we actually sold as many ebooks as traditional books. This is pretty significant and as more people buy Kindles, Sony eReaders, IPads, etc. they should eventually surpass the sale of the traditional physical books. What this means for traditional publishing remains to be seen but we feel sure that some people will always want a book they can hold in their hands.

Meanwhile, we're preparing our newest release by author Pierre V. Comtois called "Real Heroes: Real Battles." It's a collection of stories about battles from the Revolutionary War, American Civil War and World War II; many of which you may have never heard about. Look for that book to be released in June.

For the rest of the year, we've got Lloyd's new Ronan mystery coming called "The Vicious Cycle" (early fall) and then our big compilation book "Mill City Stories: Tales of Lowell & The Merrimack Valley." There's actually still time to submit a story for inclusion in that book. You have until the end of this month. Please submit it to publisher@sonsoflibertypublishing and we will let you know if it was selected sometime this summer. We're hoping for a big release of this book so we can raise a lot of money for the charity which we'll name very soon.

We're also prepping our first audio book at author Mike Girard has been in the studio reading his "Psycho Chicken & Other Foolish Tales." We expect it to be released in the fall and it may contain a few unreleased gems for fans of Mike's band The Fools. Stay tuned for more details!

Happy New Year - The January Update

Happy New Year to all our friends.

2010 was a great year two for our company and we're looking forward to what's coming up in 2011.

The first thing we need to clear up as the year begins is who we are. It's come to our attention that there has been a white supremacist group using the name Sons of Liberty for quite a while. In fact, we believe they may have actually published some books. We just want to make it clear that we are NOT that group, nor are we involved in any activities along the lines of that group's goals. About a year ago, we actually got a rather humorous email from one such group using that name that demanded we stop using it unless our belief system was inline with theirs.

That's not going to happen. The original Sons of Liberty were American revolutionists from the Boston area who stood up to English oppression. Men like Sam Adams (who also happened to be a publisher) put their lives on the line for what they believed in. By using that name, we pay tribute to our New England roots and the spirit of independence and freedom. We will not ever consider publishing any book that involves hate speech or racial supremacy.

Our first release for the new year is a book by J.F. Dacey called "Take the Long Way Home." It's a whimsical story of a taxi driver in a crumbling mill city in the late seventies told in first person.

You can find it here at Amazon.

Meanwhile next month we'll be releasing a great new book by Lowell author Stephen O'Connor called "The Spy in the City of Books."

The past has caught up with Martin LeBris. During World War II, he served the Office of Strategic Services as a spy and saboteur in Lyon, France. Nearly sixty years later, Lowell cop Gerry O'Neil is trying to unravel the mystery of why an assassin is stalking LeBris. The answer to that question lies buried in the dark days of Nazi Occupation, and in the unforgiving memory of The Spy in the City of Books.

On Sunday February 20th, we'll be celebrating this release at the Athenian Corner restaurant in downtown Lowell at 2:00 p.m. Stephen will read a selection from the book and be there to answer questions. We will have plenty of books for sale.

Meanwhile, Mike Girard's "Psycho Chicken & Other Foolish Tales" has easily become our bestselling book in our two year history. Mike has been all over New England promoting the book with a series of shows with his band The Fools, on radio, in print and on television. The book is available at Amazon in trade paperback and now in Kindle format as well.

We'll soon have even bigger news on this book (here's a hint...big screen...as in a silver one...)

We've also set up a store where you can buy t-shirts, mugs and other items with the cover artwork and title. Go ahead and check it out here. It'll make your friends very jealous.

Finally and maybe most important, we are putting together a collection of short stories called "Mill City Tales" which will focus on Lowell. MA and the surrounding Merrimack Valley area. The book will be fiction and non-fiction stories from authors we've previously published and some new literary voices. The best part of this is that we have committed to donate all profits from the sale of this book to a veterans charity. (we'll let you know which one after we let them know). The intent it to have this book out by June with a big release party.

So if you have a story you'd like to submit, please do so by the end of February to publisher@sonsoflibertypublishing.com. You might find yourself a published author.

Next month we hope to tell you more about where Mike's book may be going, a new release for April and what's in store for the rest of the year.

The December Update

Well, it's December and a fantastic 2010 is nearly over. Let's look at where we've come in the past year.

2010 stared with the release of the award winning "Whisper of the Seventh Thunder" by Larry Brooks. A great book and a great way to begin a new year. If you love Dan Brown, you have to read this one because it'll blow you away.

Next up was David Daniel's "Coffin Dust" which is so good it's now being used a text book in a creative writing course taught at UMass-Lowell. How cool is that?

We also released Lloyd L. Corricelli's second Ronan Marino Mystery called "Chasing Curves" with a big party at the Old Court in Lowell, MA. Lloyd is working on the third book in the series that should be out in fall of 2011. We're also working on a video to promote the series.

The biggest news of the year for us was the release of Mike Girard's "Psycho Chicken & Other Foolish Tales." After a great start on on-line sales at Amazon and as The Fools opened for Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, Mike and the band did an incredible show at the Blue Ocean Music Hall on the Saturday after Thanksgiving that was packed wall to wall. Quite a few books went out the door that night and we've also gotten some great press in the Boston Globe, Boston Herald and a number of other stations. Look for some huge announcement regarding this book in early 2011 (hint, let's just say you might see it one day on the silver screen).

We have one more book to release this year, J.F. Dacey's "Take the Long Way Home." It's the story of his year driving a cab in Lowell in the late seventies just as the city was about to rise from the ashes with a new national park. With the release of "The Fighter" (takes place and filmed in Lowell) it'll be interesting to see if there's any additional interest in this book.

With the holidays here, any of these books would make a great gift for the readers in your life or hell, just buy yourself one to read in front of the fireplace.

Thanks for being with us and we're looking forward to an even bigger 2011.

Psycho Chicken & Other Foolish Tales Cover is Here!

Greetings from Sons of Liberty Publishing with our September update.

As always, we're busy as hell here with all of the different projects going on. Our next book release is the long awaited sort of...kind of true story of the legendary Boston band The Fools written by their frontman Mike Girard. The Fools are best known for their songs 'Psycho Chicken,' 'Life Sucks...Then You Die,' 'World Dance Party' and "Doo Wah Diddy' amongst others.

So here it is, the very first place the cover will be seen in public...

So what do you think? The cover is meant to evoke the lunacy of the band, along with the classic Japanese monster movies and the old style EC Comics cover. If you look closely, in the background you'll see a number of Mike's classic characters too. How many can you name?

So when will the book be available you ask? The official release date is November, 27 2010 at The Fools' show scheduled at the Blue Ocean Performance Hall in Salisbury, MA. After that, Mike will be doing some in-store signings at local stores...more info to come on that one. We'll also be offering a very limited edition lithograph of the cover signed by Mike and artist Don Mousseau at the book release show. How cool would that look signed and framed on your wall?

Meanwhile, while you wait for Mike's book, how about a good mystery? Lloyd L. Corricelli's second Ronan Marino novel is out. It's called Chasing Curves: A Ronan Marino Mystery and in this one, Ronan tries to clear a UMass-Lowell baseball player accused of murdering his prospective agent's secretary.

You can purchase it at Amazon, the downtown Lowell Barnes & Noble or it can be special ordered at most other bookstores. If you like your detectives hardboiled and stories full of sex, violence and humor, you're going to love Ronan.

Well, that's all for now. Next month we'll have more news on Psycho Chicken & Other Foolish Tales as well as news on other soon to be published books.

The August Update

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 205px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PAFObVY5BzI/TGiDszZWTXI/AAAAAAAAABk/seJyghQBq8A/s320/Chasing_Curves_Front+Cover.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5505795350194441586" />
Well, we're moving towards the end of summer and we have a few projects picking up steam.

First is Lloyd L. Corricelli's new Ronan Marino Mystery "Chasing Curves." We just held the formal book release event on 8/12/10 at The Old Court in Lowell which was well attended. Lloyd did a reading and talked about future plans for Ronan which include a short story in the spring and new novel next fall (2011).

Chasing Curves book release event

We'll have a video up of the event this coming week up on our Youtube channel.

You can find the book at Amazon.com along with the second edition of "Two Redheads & A Dead Blonde" which features a new cover.

We're also working hard to get Mike Girard's "Psycho Chicken and Other Foolish Tales" out for the November 27, 2010 formal launch which will feature a concert by The Fools. We'll be doing a lot of media for this book all over New England so watch the blog and our website for more news as it breaks.

We also have some exciting news for 2011. In the spring, we'll be publishing an anthology called "Mill City Stories" which will be a collection of stories, both fiction and non-fiction, that will have to do with various facets of the city of Lowell. Lowell is the home of a national park celebrating the Industrial Revolution of American history and is a very culturally rich town. Authors like Corricelli, David Daniel and others will be contributing stories. More to come on that project soon.

That's all for now. Keep your eyes peeled for more info including a number of upcoming book signings by our authors that we'll announce here.

The July Update

Okay...so there was no June update...but there was good reason for that.

We're getting bigger; that's a good reason, right? Seriously, this little company is growing in leaps and bounds with all kinds of exciting stuff going on.

First up was the release of David Daniel's "Coffin Dust." We had a party celebrating the release at the Old Court in Lowell, MA on June 25th and the room was packed. Dave is of course a draw unto himself with his track record and we were fortunate to have a big crowd. The book is now for sale at Amazon.com and other booksellers.

Then we released Lloyd L. Corricelli's second Ronan Marino Mysteries novel "Chasing Curves." It's up on Amazon as both a trade paperback and e-book and should be out into the other book retailers' distributions services in the next few weeks. We're planning on having a big release party on August 12th again at the Old Court. More to come on that.

Meanwhile, editing is moving along on one of our future books called "The Spy in the City of Books" by Stephen O'Connor. Look for this novel about an elderly former OSS agent and the things he left behind in France during the war sometime in late fall.

We've also renamed the book by The Fools' Mike Girard. It's now called "Psycho Chicken and Other Foolish Tales." There will be a huge release party for that one on November 28th at the Blue Ocean Performance Hall at Salisbury Beach, NH. It's a beautiful venue and that is sure to be a great event.

Other big news you ask? Well, some of the big publishers have apparently taken note of Larry Brooks' "Whisper of the Seventh Thunder" and have started to sniff around. Could be big things in Mr. Brooks' future.

One other thing of note happened this month. We launched the Ronan Marino Mysteries website. In addition, you can now buy merchandise featuring the Ronan logo.

More news next month...

The May Update

Wow, it's almost the end of the month and someone reminded us there is no May update posted. We've been so busy it completely slipped our minds.

First up, some huge news. Larry Brook's "Whisper of the Seventh Thunder" won Best Suspense/Thriller novel for the 2010 Next Generation Indie Book Awards. Our third book published and already we can ourselves an award winning publisher. You owe to yourself to pick this one up and read it especially if you enjoy that genre.

David Daniel's "Coffin Dust" was released a few weeks ago and is now available on Amazon and soon at other booksellers. He's planning a big release party on June 25th at 7:30 at the Worthen House in Lowell, the city's oldest bar. If you're in the area, stop by to meet David and some of our other authors and pick up an autographed copy of the book.

Lloyd L. Corricelli's second book in the Ronan Marino Mystery series, "Chasing Curves" is nearly complete and is in the proof review stage. We expect it to be available in early July.

Meanwhile, we're slowly digging through submissions for 2011 publication. If you submitted to us, please be patient. It may take a while for us to get back to you.

That's it for now. See you back here in June.

The April Update

Wow, time is flying and we just noticed that April is almost over and we haven't done an update. Things are moving here at Sons of Liberty Publishing with new books coming and some great ones already available.

A brand new video will be debuting in a few weeks for "Whisper of the Seventh Thunder." It's the first time we've done a video for a book project and we hope it interests people in the story. We think you're really going to be wowed by it. Meanwhile, the book has been submitted for an Independent Book Publisher Award (also known as an "IPPY"). We're crossing our fingers that it makes the cut because it's very deserving.

"Whisper" also got an extremely positive review over at the Midwest Book Review. Read it for yourself here: http://www.midwestbookreview.com/sbw/apr_10.htm

On the new book front, the proof for David Daniel's "Coffin Dust" has been ordered and we're hoping to get this out by June 1st. Keep your eyes peeled for more news on it in the next update.

The next Ronan Marino Mystery "Chasing Curves" is with a proof reader and is planned to be out in early July. A joint book signing with David Daniel and "Curves" author Lloyd L. Corricelli is planned for summer.

A biography from a beloved Grammy nominated Boston musician is also in the works. More on that when we have more information to share.

The "Fools" book by Mike Girard is nearly halfway done and will be called "Opening Act: The Story of an Eighties Band." Look for it in the late fall with a big release party with live music.

We're also reading submissions for early 2011 releases and hope to have our first release for that year lined up soon.

Well, that's all for now. Enjoy the great spring weather and check back in early May for the next update.

The March Update

Well, March is here and looking out the window, the spring rains have arrived early and wiped out the snow here in New Hampshire. That can only mean warmer weather is around the corner and summer beach reading weather will soon be upon us.

To that end, we have two brand new books due out for your summer reading pleasure. First up in June will be author David Daniel's story anthology "Coffin Dust." If you like your short stories with a taste of weird, then you'll appreciate this book. David is a fantastic writer who we have benefited greatly from working with. David also tells us that he has a second volume in the works which hopefully he turns to us for publication.

In July, the second of the Ronan Marino mysteries will be released called "Chasing Curves." In this one, Ronan will find himself mixed up in the world of baseball, blackmail and murder. He'll also meet a new woman who will give his girlfriend Kat a run for her money. Right now we're in the middle of editing this one and Don Mousseau is working on the cover. Meanwhile Lloyd tells us he's working on the third book in the series for a summer 2011 release.

Both David and Lloyd will be doing book signings throughout New England and we hear they're planning a few events together at local bookstores and libraries. Stay tuned for that.

Right now the biggest event happening for our little company was the release of Larry Brooks' "Whisper of the Seventh Thunder." It's selling well for a small press, but we like to think big. To that end, we've been disappointed that the major reviewers such as Publisher's Weekly have generally ignored this release, despite receiving it for review all the way back in late November. Larry's previous books published by a large publisher were all reviewed by the "major" book reviewing sources and we'd hate to think this is an example of small press bias.

Meanwhile those that have reviewed the book at Amazon and across the internet have loved it. The Midwest Book Review called it "a fascinating enthralling apocalyptic thriller."

(You can learn more about the book at its dedicated website by clicking here.)

Work continues on Mike Girard's "tell all" book about the legendary New England band The Fools and what it was like to be a rising rock n' roll band back in the eighties. We haven't decided on a title yet, but when we do, it will be announced here. We're still hoping for a late fall release on this one.

If you haven't yet, consider joining our Facebook pages to interact directly with us. The new year has been upon us and we are about to release our first novel of 2010.

On March 1, Larry Brook's apocalyptic thriller "Whisper of the Seventh Thunder" will be out. This is an incredible book that Harriet Klausner (Amazon's #1 ranked reviewer) called "a fascinating enthralling apocalyptic thriller that deftly blends Brown, Clancy and LaHaye-Jenkins." If you like Dan Brown's work, you will absolutely love this novel. Larry is a gifted author who is going to knock your socks off.

In other big news, we've signed noted author David Daniel
(http://www.daviddanielbooks.com/) to a deal to publish a collection of stories called "Coffin Dust." (Don't worry about what his website says...believe me, it's us publishing it and that will be fixed soon by his webmaster). The stories are very much in the "Twilight Zone" genre of things.

David is a very well known author who has been published numerous times by the big New York guys. His "Alex Rasmussen" detective series (which takes place in Lowell, MA...the same city that Ronan Marino lives in) is what put him on the map and his follow up novels ike "Reunion" and "White Rabbit" have been very highly praised by major publications. We are thrilled to have him on board.

Meanwhile, Lloyd L. Corricelli's next Ronan Marino book called "Chasing Curves" is about to begin editing and the cover is being worked. We hope for a 1 July release for this anticipated follow up to "Two Redheads & A Dead Blonde." Lloyd is also working on the third Ronan adventure for a summer 2011 release.

The company has also just made an offer to another author who came to us via a Lowell Sun article about us. More to come on that when the ink is dry on the contract.

Meanwhile the still untitled Mike Girard (of the band The Fools) book is going well and there may be a big announcement soon as to who is writing the forward. Believe me, we're talking big . big, big news here. Still no consensus on the title yet. Mike wants to call it "Brown M&Ms" (rock fans should get the reference), but we're not so sure Mars Candy will go for that.

In addition to the book part of things, we're hoping to bring in a marketing expert to our team to focus on getting the word out on our products.

We've also already started to look at books for 2011. Unfortunately, we've been forced to temporarily stop accepting submissions from new authors for the time being to get through the submissions we have. We hope to start accepting them again later this year.

To those of you who have bought our books, thank you. For those who haven't...what are you waiting for!

Until next time.

Big Happenings at Sons of Liberty Publishing

Big things happening here with our little publishing company.

First up, best-selling author Larry Brooks' book "Whisper of the Seventh Thunder" is edited, the cover is nearly complete and the book is going out to major national reviewers with an early March release date. If you like Dan Brown, you will love this apocolyptic thriller.

We've also signed Mike Girard, singer of the legendary New England band "The Fools" to write a book about a band that went right to the edge of being huge in the eighties but never got that final push. They had tons of MTV play, played gigs all over the world and opened for bands like Van Halen and Rush. Those of you who are fans of "The Fools" know what a character Mike is and this is going to be a fun read.

"Thunder From Rain" our second release is out as well. If you like historical fiction about the Old West, you'll really enjoy this book. There are a few scenes in the book that will bring tears to your eyes.

Lloyd L. Corricelli did our first ever book signing in Lowell, MA for "Two Redheads & A Dead Blonde." The weather was absolutely terrible but Lloyd did okay for the first time out. His second book in the Ronan Marino Mystery Series "Chasing Curves" is due out in May. Look for another book signing sometime in the future.

If you are a writer, we areaccepting submissions. We have room for one or two more books in 2010. Please check out our web page at sonsoflibertypublishing.com for the types of books we're looking for. Email us a one page synopsis in the body of the email and if we're interested, we'll email back and ask for a few chapters.

As you can see, our web page has been greatly upgraded with even more improvements coming.
Things are moving faster than we could have ever imagined. Thanks to those of you who bought our books. Please tell your friends about us if you enjoyed what you read.

We'll be back for probably one final post before the end of the 2009. Have a great Thanksgiving!

The August Update

Wow, it's been an extremely busy month here at Sons of Liberty Publishing.

First of all, we're prepping our next release "Thunder from Rain" which is a fictionalized account of the Army's war on the peaceful Nez Perce Indian tribe. Hopefully we'll have that out by October at the latest.

Meanwhile there is big news brewing that we can't fully disclose but we are about to sign a former best selling author and release his next book, which we think is going to be huge.

We're also right on the cusp of signing a deal to publish the autobiography of a Grammy nominated eighties rock star. We can't say much more than that until the contract goes through.

On the "Two Redheads & A Dead Blonde" front, Lloyd is set to appear on local station WCAP in the near future to publicize the book as well as do a book signing in the Lowell area. We'll know dates and times really soon. Unfortunately, we haven't yet figured out how to effectively get the book into the hands of local homeboys Affleck, Damon and Wahlberg for consideration for a future film project.

So what does this all mean? We're growing in leaps and bounds and as a small independent publisher poised to make some big splashes in the publishing world.

Stay tuned because our next update will be huge!

Big news on the submission front, we've reshaped our goals as a publisher and are now looking for the following types of novels (directly from our website):

"We are primarily looking for fiction and non-fiction works that speak to the American Experience. Examples of the types of novels we're looking for are the pulp fiction mysteries in the tradition of Marlowe, the Old West dime store novels and the sweeping sagas of Michener."

So have you written the great American novel? Then why haven't you submitted it yet?

Meanwhile, we've chosen our second book to publish and plan on making the announcement within the next week. It's completely different from "Two Redheads & A Dead Blonde" but we think you'll like it, especially if you enjoy historical fiction.

Speaking of "2 Reds," the trade paperback should be for sale at Amazon.com within the next thirty days. These are exciting times here at Sons of Liberty Publishing!

Sons of Liberty Publishing is going traditional

Traditional publishing that is!

We're happy to announce that our plans to move into traditional publishing have been greatly expedited. Originally scheduled for 2010, "Two Redheads & A Dead Blonde" will now be available though Amazon.com as a trade paperback very soon. We're waiting for the proof from the publisher and if all is correct, the printer will be given the green light and it'll be for sale. Suggested retail price will be $15.99.

We're also going to do a book signing or two in the fall with Lloyd Corricelli somewhere in New England. More to come on that.

In addition, we've opened up our submission guidelines to accept authors outside New England. That should allow us to garner a wider variety of submissions and improve the overall works we publish.

Keep watching this blog space for more announcements, including the next book from Sons of Liberty Publishing.

Free Book Offer!

Welcome to Sons of Liberty Publishing's very first blog. We hope to use this blog as a way of interacting with readers and potential writers interested in working with the company. Here you'll find information on our upcoming releases and tips on writing. We may also occasionally throw some historical background on locations featured in our books as well as some updates as to what's happening in New England.

So what's up first for Sons of Liberty? Our first release, Lloyd L. Corricelli's "Two Redheads & A Dead Blonde" is now available as an e-book. Lloyd's second book in the Ronan Marino Mystery Series "Chasing Curves" is currently undergoing a rewrite and we hope to have it released before the end of 2009. In addition, we are currently accepting submissions from other authors that meet our guidelines.

We're taking this publishing thing somewhat slowly in an effort to make sure we don't go the way of so many other e-book publishers that have come and gone through the years. That means setting realistic goals for releases each year. For instance, we're shooting for two more releases this calendar year and five for 2010. We also hope to move into some traditional publishing in late 2010. Which book goes that route will depend on our overall sales.

So how are things going overall with the company? Not bad but somewhat slow much as we expected. E-books are a rapidly growing field (you gotta love Amazon's Kindle) but it's admittedly tough to get readers hooked on a new book series without a lot of the history or expensive advertising done by the big boys. That means word of mouth is huge for us.

That said, we're giving away free copies of "Two Redheads & A Dead Blonde" to the first five people who email us at publisher@sonsoflibertypublishing.com. All we're asking is for you to tell your friends about our first book. Seriously, we're not begging here but certainly could use your help to get the word out about not only that book but the company.

For any of you prospective authors out there, please visit our Sons of Liberty Publishing website and if your book falls into the category we're looking for, submit it for possible publication. One beautiful thing about the e-book business is a company can take a chance on a new author where a traditional publisher might not. That doesn't mean we'll compromise on quality however. We won't print anything that we don't thing is good just to load up our catalogue and push sales. That's one compomise that Sons of Liberty Publishing just isn't interested in making.

So please visit our website and this blog often for updates. We hope you''ll enjoy what you read from us.

Until next time.
