Well, March is here and looking out the window, the spring rains have arrived early and wiped out the snow here in New Hampshire. That can only mean warmer weather is around the corner and summer beach reading weather will soon be upon us.
To that end, we have two brand new books due out for your summer reading pleasure. First up in June will be author David Daniel's story anthology "Coffin Dust." If you like your short stories with a taste of weird, then you'll appreciate this book. David is a fantastic writer who we have benefited greatly from working with. David also tells us that he has a second volume in the works which hopefully he turns to us for publication.
In July, the second of the Ronan Marino mysteries will be released called "Chasing Curves." In this one, Ronan will find himself mixed up in the world of baseball, blackmail and murder. He'll also meet a new woman who will give his girlfriend Kat a run for her money. Right now we're in the middle of editing this one and Don Mousseau is working on the cover. Meanwhile Lloyd tells us he's working on the third book in the series for a summer 2011 release.
Both David and Lloyd will be doing book signings throughout New England and we hear they're planning a few events together at local bookstores and libraries. Stay tuned for that.
Right now the biggest event happening for our little company was the release of Larry Brooks' "Whisper of the Seventh Thunder." It's selling well for a small press, but we like to think big. To that end, we've been disappointed that the major reviewers such as Publisher's Weekly have generally ignored this release, despite receiving it for review all the way back in late November. Larry's previous books published by a large publisher were all reviewed by the "major" book reviewing sources and we'd hate to think this is an example of small press bias.
Meanwhile those that have reviewed the book at Amazon and across the internet have loved it. The Midwest Book Review called it "a fascinating enthralling apocalyptic thriller."

Work continues on Mike Girard's "tell all" book about the legendary New England band The Fools and what it was like to be a rising rock n' roll band back in the eighties. We haven't decided on a title yet, but when we do, it will be announced here. We're still hoping for a late fall release on this one.
